Collect it, then follow your fellows until your next objective is received. Specifically, the room is located in the northwest corner of the hallway you're currently traversing. The next room over (to the left) is very dark, and contains two things: a corpse and another Death Card. You'll run down a hall with your comrades, and will witness one of your Sergeants beating a man to death in a flaming room. Use your tools to defeat every foe in your sights, then follow the star emblem on your compass. If you pick up a Gewehr 43 from a corpse, its reliable accuracy will prove useful in sniping enemies from afar (and preserving your PTRS-41 bullets). Of those two routes, the left path seems reasonably easier. You can head left (south) or right (north) to ultimately charge toward the west. Claim and save it for later, then join your comrades. There's a PTRS-41 beside it, but it only has ten bullets. Instead, look for a bench to the left of its entrance. If you want a sniper rifle, don't follow them into that room yet. They'll take two right turns, and then march up a staircase into a big, open room. Pick it up if you'd like, then wait for your comrades to start running.
